The link between soil, the human gut, and our overall health & wellbeing
There is a new and exciting field of science and enquiry emerging which explores the link between the microbiome within soils and the human gut, and how this connection influences our own health & wellbeing.
Once upon a time, our gut microbiome matched that of the soil. The striking difference between today’s microbiomes in the soil and the microbiomes in a person’s gut, compared to ancient microbiomes is high genetic variability. One study has shown that almost 40% of the ancient microbial species no longer exist[1].The reason for this includes industrialisation and practices used in Agriculture which has introduced many chemicals and toxins into our soil, completely destroying microbiome diversity that we once had access to through the plants we eat. Lifestyle choices including the use of pesticides and household chemicals, antibiotics and processed food has also had a serious and deleterious effect on the health of our gut.

What is Fulvic Acid?
Fulvic acid is a group of ancient organic chemicals and natural compounds of plant and animal breakdown. It can be found in Earth’s soil, rock sediments and bodies of water. The particles fulvic acid is made from are all elemental ions, the basic building blocks of all matter. Amazingly, fulvic acid can produce organic ionic minerals by bonding with and chelating inorganic minerals. It is water soluble at any pH and offers ionic trace minerals that are both electrically charged and small enough to pass through any cell wall with great ease. Natural fulvic acid maintains the lowest carbon content as well as the highest oxygen and trace mineral content.
